Summer Festival Wellington

Get your team ready for the first ever Seven Days of Sevens Festival.

Food trucks for lunch in the sun, seven-a-side touch tournys, live music and photo booths will be on hand to take you from summer fun to superhero status at our very own Rugby Sevens HQ. Get down to the waterfront and Wellington’s Rugby Sevens HQ in Civic Square, the centre of it all to unleash your superpowers!

Across the 7 days, some great meals and deals will also be available at the following restaurants and bars:

Sat 23 Jan
- Relax at the Queens Wharf Waterfront Summer Festival (by TSB Arena). Live music, great food and a 5m big screen showing all the sporting action will keep you and your mates entertained all day. The BLACKCAPS will be making a special appearance so grab any memorabilia you want signed!
- Live life in the fast lane at the Wallaceville Estate Wellington Cup. Our Sevens Green Screen Photo Booth will be there so you can insert yourself in the action.
- Head to the Lagoon Lawn beside St Johns Restaurant and Bar a big hats and bubbles themed afternoon

Sun 24 Jan
- Our Photo Booth returns to the Waterfront Summer Festival. Don’t miss your chance to get in the picture!
- Spend an evening in the park as the Cumbia Bros light up Gardens Magic at the Botanical Gardens

Mon 25 Jan
- Warm up for the weekend with the BLACKCAPS v Pakistan ODI at the Basin Reserve
- Head to Wellington Pasifika Festival in Waitangi Park. Our Photo Booth will be there so you can tell the world you were too.
- Stop by Odlin's Plaza on the waterfront and check out the 3D chalk art by local artist Dan Boyd - be sure to take a pic of yourself standing on top of Westpac Stadium!
- Relax at the Queens Wharf Waterfront Summer Festival (by TSB Arena)

Tue 26 Jan
- Rugby Sevens HQ in Civic Sq opens. Catch embassy and corporate teams battle it out, have your picture taken in our Photo Booth, and enjoy a fresh and fabulous food truck lunch with live music.
- Support the Kenya and South Africa Sevens teams Africa Vibes Festival with African cuisine and live music at St Johns Bar and Restaurant.
- Relax at the Queens Wharf Waterfront Summer Festival (by TSB Arena)

Wed 27 Jan
- Let Wellington Rugby show you some Sevens moves, skills and drills with activities in Civic Square. The Photo Booth, live music and food trucks will also be back.
- St John's takes you on the road to Rio with carnival fun including salsa dancing, Samba, Capiero and plenty of Latino food.

Thu 28 Jan
- Get active with free Push Play games and activities at Civic Square. While you’re there, grab lunch from the food trucks and a photo from our Photo Booth or relax on the bean bags to some live tunes.
- If you missed out yesterday, head to St Johns for their road to Rio carnival.

Fri 29 Jan
- St John's turns on the patriotic pride with a kiwiana festival, complete with a Hangi.
- With only one day to go, we’re turning Civic Square into rugby central. There’ll be something for every rugby fan, big and small, including our Photo Booth, food trucks, live music and perhaps some sporting celebrity guests...
