The festival celebrates the end of the fall harvest and is organised when the moon is its brightest and fullest. Dating back 3000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty, this festival is an East Asian tradition when families and friends get together and revel in the appearance of the mid-autumn harvest moon. The Moon Festival showcases Asian culture, traditions and cuisines. The exciting programme itinerary will incorporate over 50 marquees. The event will include various international cuisines, arts and crafts, as well as a full entertainment program. Patrons will be wooed by live entertainment including musical and dance performances. A wide range of activities will aid you in partaking in the festivities while a fabulous array of food stalls will ensure that your tummy remains entertained.The Moon Festival will commence in Boxhill Central at 10am and will draw its curtain at 5pm. Boxhill Central is located at Market Street, Box Hill and can be easily accessed by trains, buses and cars.
